Frequently asked questions
What is a buckskin horse?
A Buckskin horse is a type of color pattern commonly seen in many equine breeds. The term 'buckskin' refers to the tan or golden coloration of the horse's coat, combined with dark brown or black points such as the mane and tail. This color pattern is also referred to as ‘dun’ and is popular among American Quarter Horses, Paint horses, Appaloosas and many others. Buckskins are prized for their striking coats and make excellent riding horses.
