Lil Red Penny is a registered American Quarter Horse, 9 years old, blue roan mare. She stands 15 hands tall and is very thick made and sturdy built! Wow Check Her Out! Penny has been ridden the last few years by an older lady who hauled her all over to state parks on weekend camping trips and has hundreds of trail miles under her belt. She just recently trail rode in the Black Hills State Park. She also rides very nicely in the arena and would make a good lesson horse. Super smooth lope and lopes nice circles hitting her correct leads each time. This mare has a one hand neck rein, making her very easy to ride. It’s like having power steering when riding her. She is very good and experienced when it comes to working cattle. She has been used to drag calves to the branding fire, doctor cattle out in the open, and has moved lots of cattle from the winter pasture to the summer pastures. She is the kind of horse that is so broke but also quiet enough that you can pull her bridle off and ride her around and down the trail with just a rope around her neck. My 8-year-old daughter can catch her and ride her by herself, she is that gentle. We have roped some off her and that does faze her at all. She has very good ground manners and not mare-ish at all.
