“Buckshot”

Everyone has been waiting all year, and it’s finally time! This adorable buckskin pony, well known as Buckshot, has caught the eye of millions and gone viral on Instagram and Facebook.

Our 7 year old son Wade, has owned him for the past year, and has spent many hours with this pony and he is so proud to offer him for Christmas!

Buckshot is 38” tall, 6 years old- built nice and thick, looks like a tiny Doc Bar Quarter Horse. Hardy as they come and will last your little cowboy or cowgirl as long as they want to ride.

Buckshot and Wade have been on many adventures together. They have roamed the countryside, gone swimming in our creek to cool off this summer, spent many hours in the woods, trail riding, loaded up and went for a trip downtown with traffic, construction, fire engines and bicycles, have stopped at the local ice cream shop for a tasty treat and one of the bigger highlights, Buckshot took a trip to Tractor Supply Co- went inside the store and rode down the isles!! From the roping pen- to Jr rodeos, Buckshot is a hit wherever he goes.

He is accustomed to wild little cowboy antics, whether that’s a B.B gun being fired over his head, taking off through the woods to chase the bad guys, roping the super slider or helping punch cows beside Daddy’s big horse. The little thing is actually kind of cowy, and should your little cowpoke take a notion, they might enjoy penning or sorting on him. Buckshot is about the handiest little pony I’ve ever seen.

He competed all season at our local saddle club, and jr rodeo- goat tying, barrel racing, trail class and flag racing, and though he’s not exactly finished in any of those disciplines- he’s very willing and tries to do whatever is asked of him. He won lots of ribbons and placed Reserve champion in barrels and 3rd in the trail class at the year end.

You can check out many videos of Buckshot and Wade on our Instagram- @_rachelvick_ and watch some of their exciting and popular adventures.

Wade catches and halters Buckshot out of the big field, unassisted- tacks him up and rides him all on his own. His pony is pretty patient and doesn’t mind waiting on Wade to get everything situated properly. He stands well for grooming, the farrier, mounting up, etc.

Buckshot loves an adventure. He will go all day long, day or night and if your kids love to run and go fast, Buckshot will happily oblige. He lopes right of, no problem, will lope circles in the correct leads even. We’ve hauled him to roping jackpots for the kids to play around on, he has never paid any attention to the lights and music and commotion. We took him to our annual church fall festival to give pony rides, and he patiently toted all the kids and enjoyed the neck scratches and nose kisses too.

He has been trail ridden extensively, will go anywhere he’s pointed. At the Christmas Parade this year, Buckshot was such a hit, complete with his little reindeer antlers and garland. Loud fire engines, first responder sirens, flashing lights and Christmas music blaring, none of it phased Buckshot. Lots of curious kids came up to offer candy and scratch his nose.

This pony would probably attempt to ride to the moon and back if he thinks that’s what the kids want him to do. If you have a family full of children and they all rotate and take turns on him, he’s just as happy to oblige the first- as he is the last.

He doesn’t mind dogs or other farm animals, or tarps, bullwhips, firecrackers etc.

Buckshot is one of those rare, very hard to find, exceptional ponies that any child will adore, bond with and learn how to be a cowgirl or cowboy with. And having peace of mind- knowing your kids are on a quality pony, is worth so much.

We have truly enjoyed our time with him and we are excited to see him with his next little cowboy or cowgirl and their adventures to come!!

Buckshot passed his Pre Purchase Exam with flying colors!
